Switching Between Modes

Locanox is designed to operate seamlessly both offline and online, giving users full control over when and how their device interacts with any network. In Offline Mode, everything from AI interactions to file storage to wallet creation happens entirely on your device. Nothing is transmitted, synced, or shared. This mode is ideal for users who want maximum privacy, full local autonomy, and zero exposure.
When you choose to go online, Locanox enters Private Online Mode, a secure environment that leverages decentralized infrastructure like encrypted relays, peer-to-peer protocols, and anonymous routing. In this mode, your AI can fetch real-time data, decentralized apps can work with remote endpoints, and you can use relay-enabled encrypted messaging all without revealing your IP, device signature, or location. The shift between offline and online modes is non-persistent. Once online activity ends, no history is retained and all interactions are sandboxed from your local vault.
This switching mechanism is core to the Locanox architecture. Your encrypted data, wallets, chat memory, and vaults remain strictly local and untouched, even during online usage. No cloud sync, no telemetry, no background transmission. Whether offline or online, you stay in control.
How Mode Switching Works
1. Default is Offline Mode
Locanox always starts in full privacy mode. No internet interaction.
2. Switching to Online Mode
You manually activate Private Online Mode via the toggle in settings.
3. Vault & Memory Stay Local
Even while online, none of your sensitive data is transmitted or exposed.
4. Decentralized Relay Channels Only
Online access uses ephemeral, encrypted relays with no permanent identity.
5. No IP, No Cloud, No Metadata
Your device stays hidden from centralized endpoints.
6. Switch Back Anytime
Turning off online mode restores isolation. Nothing is saved, nothing lingers.
